The Washington Marketing Group and its print partners have pioneered self-mailer innovations. The term self-mailer - sometimes reffered to as "unit mailer" describes any piece which can be mailed without the use of an additional envelope. TWMG self -mailers are produced on "web presses," as opposed to "sheet fed".
A reply device and return envelope (or other response mechanism) is integrated in the piece with personalization. When personalized on press, all data tapes must be available prior to press time -- or the pieces can be addressed off press (outside personalization only). In this case the product is produced for inventory -- and mailed as names are available. In this way it is possible to print larger quantities at better prices.
A web of paper is fed into the press at one end, and out comes a direct mail package folded, glued and ready to mail. This process is called "in-line finishing." Thus, rather than performing operations off line (in a seperate manufacturing process), the packages are in-line finished on the press.
Several of our innovative package concepts are displayed below. Simply click on the image to read the full schematic.
One of our simplest formats, the Catalog Insert/Brochure is designed with 3 or 4 panels (Both Front & Back) for copy and graphics containing an attached envelope with side seams.
